Newark Could be the Soccer Capital of America

Why could Newark be the soccer capital of America?

Well, to start, Newark has a huge soccer community and everyone from New Jersey comes to the soccer tournaments in Newark, whenever they are available (of course). Newark has some of the most brilliant minds, the most knowledgeable,  in the US soccer community. The largest group of volunteers of this sport live in Newark, but they play somewhere else... so what is missing? I guess Newark misses dedication and commitment from the ones in power. I think Newark officials are not yet familiar with the potential of such sport and what it can do for the city and for our youngsters. New Jersey and the world would visit Newark more often if we just gave soccer a better chance. We need facilities to play; they must be within soccer regulations. We need an indoor soccer facility that allows tournaments throughout the winter. I still remember the Lisa Tournament from escc at the Ironbound Stadium that brought thousands of kids and their families to Newark on the weekends when the tournament was on. What happened to it? There is a lot of talent in Newark and we could take our young generation to world fame if we just gave them a chance and used our manpower potential, the one that is dormant in Newark and that covers all cultural backgrounds from all Newark neighborhoods, the African American community, the Hispanic community, the European community, the African community... they are all here and they are just waiting for an opportunity to show it! Someone should jump on this matter with all their might!
